The Percy Gee Building has been the home of the University of Leicester Students’ Union since 1957 and now, in its 52^nd year, the building is receiving a much needed redevelopment.

On this site you will find the latest images, information and plans of the project. You can sign up for updates, join the twitter feed, or download blogs from those staff and students involved in the ongoing work to redevelop this magnificent students’ services building.

The project will cost over £15 million and starts in late May 2009, and is due to complete in the summer of 2010. At the end the University community will have a new high quality food outlet; a 1750 capacity live music venue; a new bar for students and staff; new retail outlets; a dedicated space for the Union’s education and representation functions; a new accommodation agency; a bigger and improved welfare advice facility; a new student activities centre, and; a new living room for students and staff to sit and talk, eat, or even just sleep!
